If You Were Using Microsoft Windows… Switch To Either Linux Or FreeDOS Immediately!

If you think Microsoft Windows is a great OS, without needing to type these expensive commands on your computer. However; Windows 11 has been set to take screenshots each time as you use your PC,–taking up disk space. Currently, I shut off my Windows PC as a way to reduce the burden of having this experience. Well, the point of having a GUI is to make it easier for a typical person who never owned a computer before. However; some people choose to type commands over using a GUI.

With all of these privacy evading practices found within Windows 11; this is a serious madness when you are about to power on your computer.

If you are a avid Window user; this article may NOT be right for you. If you are a Windows user; please click away! If you are just curious about why Windows may have a serious problem, you are free to read this article, a decision is yours.

Why You Should Ditch Windows Immediately?

WARNING

If you are a sex offender who is required to have monitoring software installed on your PC as a condition of your supervised release from prison, either for a set amount of time or for life; this article doesn’t apply to you.

If in doubt; speak with your attorney for your information about your computer requiring such software.

If you were buying a new computer; you may need to NOT set your Windows for general use. If you are about to power on your computer; immediately, boot to your Linux or FreeDOS installer, unless you built your own computer. However; Choosing Linux or FreeDOS is necessary for you to steer clear from Microsoft’s hidden deceptive practices found on Windows computers. This feature should’ve been ONLY used for people who have a porn addiction, piracy addiction, or other factors.

The point of choosing FreeDOS, Ubuntu Linux, or any other open-source OS plays a key role of saving money; make computers affordable, and democratize our market of computers being sold to everyday people and companies. Also, choosing NOT to install Microsoft Windows provides a clear message about why this OS has been criticized by many software advocates who support use of open-source software..

As I was reading posts on X, I stumbled upon a post with an article about Windows 11 with these privacy evading features that can result a nightmare for all users who rely on Windows 11 that is not worth using on their PCs. If I have children; I should always ask them to choose FreeDOS or Linux as their computers of choice. Also, Windows has gone worse than you thought. If you’re not sure; Microsoft has been criticized for their alleged practices. Requiring to have a microsoft account for your own PC what you bought is kind of a nightmare for people who want to have a local account on their computers,–without needing to sign up for unnecessary services. If a child buys a computer; it must have either FreeDOS, or Linux… so a child can code software,–instead of being lazy… downloading expensive software to use from developers who are bad actors. The purpose of NOT using Microsoft Windows is to convince computer owners to code their own software. If you don’t know any of these computer languages; you can find tutorials at your local school, or online via these free resources that are available. Fortunately, I learned to write in HTML by visiting W3 Schools, and get myself into coding.

Imagine; you were at Walmart, or any other store where computers are sold; you only find Windows PCs, instead of Ubuntu or FreeDOS PCs. This is a nightmare for people who care about coding their own software with a different platform. Unfortunately, Aldi doesn’t sell FreeDOS, or Linux computers as an affordable line of computers, if they did; that should’ve solve the problem with our privacy.

Think about choosing Linux or FreeDOS over Microsoft Windows as allowing your child to ride on his/her large dog over walking him/her with a leash. You can really develop new breeds of dogs for riding in the future. Or in some cases; you manufacture large toys for kids and adults alike. With FreeDOS and Linux OSs; you get more freedom and control, and you get an ability to get all of your coding skills back. The purpose of coding your software is to be creative. If you want to develop software that will only work on FreeDOS and Linux, you can do it. This is a correct move to help steer clear of Windows, if you have serious concerns,–regarding malware. Closed-source software are always susceptible to piracy, causing losses up to millions or more. That also caused some computer manufacturers to implement unnecessary features to their UEFI, such as: secure boot. I don’t need secure boot because, I rely on open-source OSs as a way to get more of my freedom with my machines.

If you were using Windows when you are developing your software that supposed to be kept secret, your IP is susceptible to theft; exploitation, or worse. Also; your company’s data is seriously at risk of being tampered with.

Untold; security breaches, data theft, and even illegal hacking has resulted to many people having their data used with a fraudulent manner, all because of use of Windows.

Like most Windows PCs, if they didn’t sell from manufacturers; they often dump them to landfills, and even pollute our environment. These stores don’t even donate unsold merchandises to organizations who will replace Windows with FreeDOS or Linux for free, or as a service to help ditch Windows.

How To Ditch Windows

If you are a supporter of open-source software; and you have an open-source lifestyle, you need to get rid of Microsoft Windows during your transition to open-source living., there are ways to support use of open-source software. If you own a computer, such as a desktop computer, or a laptop computer… follow these steps:

Ensure Your Data Is Backed Up

Having a backup is very important as a way to ensure you have a smooth transition to FreeDOS or Linux. You can get all of your files and data from your Window PC. Never use a Windows backup tool. Back up ALL of your files as you prepare your transition to open-source OS of choice.

If you have any of these; perform the following:

  • If You Write Ebooks

Gather all of your written work by zipping into your folder, and moving it to your external drive that is capable of holding lots of data. If you have ebooks that are DRM-enabled, and you’ve must’ve purchased them; delete them. You don’t need them anymore!

Speak to a publishing platform about your transition to Linux, or FreeDOs.

If you were writing erotic ebooks; you may need to purchase a separate computer for erotic works.

If you already got all of your books backed up via a clod provider, or a self-hosted cloud; skip this step.

  • Photos What You’ve Taken

If your family has memories of an amusement park, or other memories; you may need to gather ALL of your photos.

You may need to gather all of your photos that may be sensitive for your family who kept these photos for a long period of time.

  • If You Have Other Stuff

Gather as much items as you can. Always use a working drive as a way to help be prepared for a transition to Linux of FreeDOS.

If you are just starting things fresh, and you are going to get your PC converted to a Linux Or FreeDOS machine; you may need to get your machine specially prepared for this transition.

Install Linux, Or FreeDOS

Each OS has a documentation when installing any of these OSs. Check with their documentation when installing any of these OSs as a way to get your computer ready for this transition.

If you were about to install Linux, we’re not going to cover how to do it, but you can WikiHow articles.

If you were installing FreeDOS, check with their documentation.

Cleaning Up

Delete any of these files what you don’t want,–after you made a transition. Also, do any of the following as you perform the cleanup:

  • Cancel your subscriptions to paid streaming services – If you were using Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, Netflix, Discovery+, or any other paid streaming services, cancel them, if applies… a refund will be issued. Find free alternatives to help stretch your dollars.
  • If you have a spare computer that requires to run Windows for a certain person who is a sex offender; it requires monitoring software installed. Or you can use it as a dedicated streaming device. However; it should use a smaller disk size, not a large disk size.
  • If you own a business; ensure your employees are adapting to a new OS, speak to them about why this is a necessary step to save money.
  • If you have a church; you can still have normal service like usual.
  • If you have a studio that s designed to develop games for physical media, issue new copies that will ONLY support FreeDOS or Linux platforms. Discontinue supporting Microsoft Windows with a schedule.
  • If you have an animation studio, cancel paid SAAS platform subscriptions, and transition to open-source variant of animation software. You may need to reissue content with open-source licenses that are available. Creative Commons is a best license method to rely on.
  • If you have a music studio, discontinue use of DRM, and go open-source.
  • If you are a web developer; transition to open-source software.

Prepare For Missing Out These Features

Even if you transitioned to Linux, These features what you liked for a long time are NOT present with Ubuntu. However; you can still do the same what you do on Windows computers. Also, getting back to coding is one way to develop your own software for most Linux users who want to use Linux for a long period of time.

If you missed Command Prompt On Windows; Terminal is available.

If you missed Notepad on Windows; Gedit, Mousepad, or any other basic text editors are available.

If you missed Windows Media Player; Parole Media Player is available.

If you like ANY of the software included with a copy of Windows; open-source substitutes are available.

If you missed Microsoft Office; LibreOffice is available as a substitute.

What You Should Do?

Don’t purchase any copy of Microsoft Windows, if you were ordering a computer from a manufacturer; remind them to install FreeDOS or Linux. If you were building your own computer; choose open-source software.

If your child wants to own a computer; install FreeDOS or Linux. Speak to your child about harmful software found in Windows, and why should avoid this OS, you should also speak to your child about choosing FreeDOS or Linux as safe OSs. This is necessary to convince your children to choose open-source software.

If your child goes to a computer lab; ask his/her teacher about learning to code on FreeDOS or Linux, or any other open-source OS on these machines.

If you’re not sure to say to a teacher at a computer lab, use this script:

Feel free to personalize this script.

If a child requires to go on a computer as a form of a homework; ask for coding software as a form of a homework. You can always convince your child’s school to include coding as a class.

Conclusion

Transitioning to open-source software can save you money, and your privacy. That’s what some people don’t understand. Windows needs to be only targeted towards people who want to run Windows on computers as a choice. If Windows have warning labels, or nutrition labels… that should’ve enabled any consumer to choose to use this OS or not.

FreeDOS and Linux are virtually safer than you thought, and they’re free and open-source.

My thoughts about ditching Windows is like trading a PBJ sandwich for a plate of vegan pizza. With choosing a vegan pizza with lots of vegetables included; you get more nutrition than a PBJ sandwich.

My another thought of choosing Linux over Windows is kind of like reducing prices at a store what I own, and keeping these goods on a shelf, and donating food to the food bank. Also, selling computers with a low price because FreeDOS and Linux are installed on these machines. If I have this store for real; how much money you will save?

My another thought of choosing open-source software is like reducing prices at a restaurant what I own, and adding a feature for anyone to add any amount above a minimum price. Price gouging is illegal, and I oppose the practice of gouging prices. With an open-source software; that really reduce costs like usual,–with true common sense.
