From lack of employment, to being low in money to spend… I decided to recycle cans as a way to make some little cash with baby steps. Well, this is my continued effort of helping our environment, and helping to keep empty cans out of landfills, and help reduce mining of materials for making cans. However; saving up little amounts of money is a great way to save up for a goal down the road.
My neighbor who occasionally drink pop is now leaving cans to be recycled too. I usually get these cans crushed as a way to ensure I have enough pounds of cans to be recycled. This is my typical odd job that is going to ensure I collect the cans, and take it to a recycling center to earn some dollars. Not just it can help benefit our ecosystem… that will also enable me to get started with saving our planet each day.
The Beginning
I resumed my recycling efforts as a way to help offset parts of my budget that is extremely tight. Well, I usually buy canned drinks from a grocery store as a way to fill up my fridge. Typically, I usually order food from restaurants on an occasional basis, but what I’ve just overstood… being over my budget can be a scary situation,–if I don’t manage my money the right way.
So, I converted both of my empty pickle jars into coin jars as a way to sort pennies, and dollar coins. Well, I chose dollar coins because, that enables me to keep my spending under control. Also, these jars play a key role of keeping cash on hand.
With my effort of collecting cans on a weekly basis, I usually think about new ideas, solve problems, and more. I usually wash these empty cans as a way to prepare them for being processed. If you are just curious about which cans what I am crushing and recycling, here are the following cans what I am crushing:
Beer Cans
One of the staff members has told me all about a person, or more people who enjoy beer. I am not going to disclose who they are because, I take privacy very seriously. I usually wash these cans as a way to rinse the beer residue from these cans. I usually do this as a way to increase sanitation. Dish detergent is used to clean these cans. Not just it will be clean when being recycled, that will help reduce time for people who recycle these cans at the center. Leaving them dirty is out of this question. I usually clean them as a way to increase safety.
It may take more effort for me to collect more cans as a way to increase quotas. The heavier the crushed cans, the better!
Pop Cans
Again, I won’t disclose my neighbor’s name because, I take privacy very seriously. He does drink pop,–if he has money available to spend. I usually set a bag for these cans to be collected,–after the bag gets full. Well, this is an important maintenance because, if the bag gets full, I need to empty it.
I started convincing staff members to bring home these cans to be recycled. This is important because, I need to ensure my job what I have is consistent. A discarded can can be a problem for our ecosystem, mice can get stuck, opossums can get their tails stuck, and even other animals can get injured by these materials. Collecting cans is the difference what I am making.
Other Beverage Cans
I also crush other beverage cans too!
I don’t discriminate any can.
Tin Cans
These cans can’t be crushed, but collected whole. I use one of these starting cans to collect tops that will be stacked on the inside of a can being recycled. That will also be loaded into a bag that will handle heavy loads.
This is necessary to help reduce the burden of discarding these tin cans.
The more cans recycled, the better.
How Did I Set This Up?
Here’s what I’ve did as a way to set up my apartment for recycling cans:
The Bags For Gathering Crushed Cans
I use ordinary trash bags to compile cans that are crushed, and filling each bag to the top,–ensure a bag is heavy enough to earn more. This is a rudimentary method of gathering cans.
Using A Sink To Wash Cans
I use the sink to wash these cans before crushing. This is necessary to help ensure these cans are safe to handle when crushing.
Hot water is necessary because, tough cleaning can kill germs and bacteria. Typically I use dish detergent to clean these cans.
Once the cans are crushed, I placed them in a smaller bag for managing quotas,–prior to moving these cans to a larger bag.
My Thoughts
My thoughts of recycling cans is kind of like choosing a quality built building over a budget-focused building for a business, or in some cases; trading a carousel for little children for a different carousel for adults and children alike. If this the case… let me break this down:
With a carousel for adults and children, you can have a broader audience. Typically, adults pay more with a premium price as children pay with a lower price. However; adult riders on a carousel can bring in more dollars. With children, you need more to be successful
A carousel for little children requires more children to be successful.
My another thought about recycling cans is like trading a gas furnace for a heat pump for heating during the cold days. If you have a gas furnace, you need expensive piping, and you need to have inspections each year, and you must have a licensed technician to work with these pipes. With a heat pump (air to water), you can have less piping, and you can have heat without polluting our air.
Although; recycling cans can be a fun thing to do, and anyone can do it! The homeless can do it, the poor can do it, the rich can do it, and even a school can do it. Being paid with cash can be ideal when recycling materials. You can really use your earned money for any of these activities:
- Go To A Movie Theater – You can use your earned funds after recycling materials. This is ideal for people who are movie buffs.
- Rent Hotel Rooms – Got a plan when your home has been damaged by water, fire, or wind,–or other natural disasters? You can use your earned funds to rent hotel rooms with quality hotels chosen (recommended) as a way to prepare for these critical events. Even choosing a correct hotel can impact your speding. Always go for a quality hotel as an opposed to low quality hotel. Ask if they use caterers, or they coos by using their own kitchens, and ask if their food and drinks are safe to eat… otherwise… you may need to order from restaurants.
- Pay Off Debts – If you exclusively using your earned cash to pay off debts, this is ideal for paying off credit card, morgage, loan, rent, utility, or any forms of debt. That can also help you make ends meet slowly. Don’t rush! Take your time.
- Go To An Arcade – Are you are a gamer like I am? You can use your earned cash for playing arcade games.
- Buy Buildings – Saved lots of cash? Say “bye” renting business buildings and own your own building as a way to keep your business revenue up. This is ideal for business owners who want to have their own business property. This is a current goal what I have to own a business building for the future.
